Founded in 1972, Quincaillerie Touraine has always succeeded in standing out through its customer service. From its modest start, an expansion was quickly imposed to meet demand. By 1978, the store's surface area doubled compared to these dimensions when it opened. It is precisely with this in mind that in 2005 we acquired a warehouse as well as 4 acres of land in Cantley in order to be able to buy in greater quantities and store. Subsequently, we also purchased 6 additional acres of land and a building in 2013 and opened our second store.

In 2002, we created our SMO Industry division, in response to the growing demand in the region for industrial product. The human contact and the expertise of our representatives have made this division a great success. Today, SMO Industrie is among the places where you can find the largest variety of screws and bolts in Gatineau.

In 2023, work will take place so that our industrial division offers a better range of products, particularly in hydraulic hoses and lubricants for heavy equipment, such as excavators, agricultural tractors or others.

In 2012, our Distribution SMO division was created to meet the demand for a wastewater treatment product. The new standards of environmental protection created a demand for specialized products, which was then difficult to obtain. Our septic system division has facilitated the acquisition of products necessary for the home that is not connected to sewer systems. SMO Distribution quickly became a leader in the distribution of septic equipment in Quebec.

We also joined the Castle banner in 2017 to offer a service better suited to the needs of our customers. Today, Touraine hardware has nearly 30 employees who share the company's vision when it comes to customer service.
